Sports and nutrition is our mission.
Yakima Next Gen's focus is to provide support for underprivileged youth ages 5-18 while navigating through life's dangers. We accomplish this by giving youth access to groups and activities that will help them gain self confidence, self control, exercise, and friendships in safe spaces. Statistics show that getting children and teens into sports significantly lowers the risk of youth suicide, teen pregnancy, youth drug and alcohol abuse, juvenile delinquency, and obesity in children.
We also promote and provide nourishing food for low-income families, enabling them to embrace healthy and active lifestyles.
We believe that every child deserves the chance to participate in sports and experience the joy and growth it brings. Unfortunately, many children miss out on this opportunity due to financial constraints, leading to gaps in their developmental, physical, and social growth. This is where we step in.
Furthermore, sports play a key role in keeping our youth safe and engaged, steering them away from negative influences such as gangs, drugs, and alcohol, keeping them off the streets and out of harms way. Our organization is here to ensure that every child, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to experience these invaluable benefits.
